  IMPROVING YOUR SMILE: An attractive smile is the result of a several factors. Tooth color, shape, size and alignment come together to make a pleasing smile. Greatly misaligned teeth need to be cleaned, evaluated for cavities and then treated by an orthodontist. Minor alignments such as rotations and minor crowding can often be corrected by Dr. Palles.

Tooth color, shape and size can be corrected by many methods.

 BLEACHING: . Natural teeth can be brightened by the application of chemical agents that remove external stains and discoloration. Crowns and tooth colored fillings will not change color when bleached. 

 CROWNS: The tooth or teeth are cut down, an impression is made and a porcelain jacket or crown is made in the desired color. There are many types of crown and bridge materials to choose from..  

 VENEERS: . A minimal of tooth structure is removed on the facial surfaces of the teeth. An impression of the teeth is sent to a dental lab where facings are made that are then bonded to the facial surfaces of the teeth..  

 DIRECT COMPOSITE VENEERS: Composite Resin Veneers have become less popular in recent years. This is due in part to the increase in types of laboratory veneers: Lava, Lumineers and Zirconia to name a few.  

  Many Dentists do not have the time or artistic ability to make a natural looking tooth from various colors of composite resin. This type of dentistry is art. Dr. Palles is very skilled at color matching and achieving the proper translucency of your teeth. Painting landscapes in oil is one of Dr. Palles' hobbies. His acquired skills in color matching extend in to his cosmetic dental skills.
